This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, disclosed, retained and protected when you use the MasterLoans website or related digital services. Please read it carefully before using the website or submitting personal information.

MasterLoans may operate as a digital platform or facilitator and may work with lending partners and service providers. The exact role of MasterLoans in a particular loan transaction may depend on the applicable arrangement.

1. Information covered by this Policy

Information collected through MasterLoans may vary depending on the service you use, the stage of your application and the requirements of the applicable lending process. Information may include:

Personal information

This may include your name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, residential details and other information necessary to identify or communicate with you.

Financial and employment information

Where required for loan-related services, information may include employment status, occupation, income-related information, existing financial obligations and other information relevant to eligibility assessment.

Identification and verification information

Where legally permitted and necessary, information required for identity, address or other verification processes may be collected through appropriate methods.

Application information

This may include your requested loan amount, preferred tenure, purpose of borrowing, application status and information submitted during the loan enquiry or application process.

Technical information

When you use the website, certain technical information may be automatically generated, such as device information, browser type, IP address, operating system, access times and general interaction information.

The information actually collected will depend on the service and applicable legal requirements.

2. How we collect information

Information may be obtained directly from you when you:

  • visit the MasterLoans website;
  • submit a loan enquiry;
  • complete an application form;
  • request an eligibility assessment;
  • contact customer support;
  • submit documents or information for verification;
  • communicate with MasterLoans; or
  • use other available digital services.

Information may also be received from an applicable lending partner or authorised service provider where permitted by law and appropriate consent or another lawful basis exists.

3. Why information is used

Information may be processed for legitimate and disclosed purposes, including:

  • providing requested services;
  • processing loan enquiries and applications;
  • assessing eligibility;
  • facilitating communication with lending partners;
  • supporting verification processes;
  • preventing fraud and misuse;
  • maintaining application records;
  • providing customer support;
  • improving website functionality;
  • maintaining security;
  • meeting legal and regulatory obligations; and
  • exercising or defending legal rights where necessary.

Information should not be used for purposes that are incompatible with the purpose for which it was collected unless permitted by applicable law.

4. Sharing information with lending partners

If you request loan-related services, relevant information may need to be shared with an applicable lending partner so that the partner can evaluate your request. The information shared should be relevant to the purpose for which it is required.

The lending partner may independently process information according to its own privacy policy, contractual terms and applicable legal or regulatory obligations. Before proceeding with a loan, customers should review the privacy documentation of the applicable lender where provided.

5. Service providers

MasterLoans does not intend to sell customers’ personal information merely because customers use its services.

MasterLoans may use authorised third-party service providers to support functions such as technology infrastructure, communications, security, verification, customer support, analytics and other operational requirements. Such providers may receive access to information only to the extent necessary for their authorised function and subject to applicable contractual, security and legal requirements.

6. Consent and customer choice

Where applicable law requires consent for processing personal information, MasterLoans will seek consent through an appropriate mechanism. Customers should carefully review consent requests before accepting them.

Consent may not necessarily be required for every form of processing where another lawful basis is available under applicable law. Where customers are given choices regarding optional data processing, they should be able to exercise those choices through the mechanisms provided.

India’s notified Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 establish detailed requirements concerning notice, consent-related processes, security safeguards and other data-protection matters, with different provisions becoming applicable according to the notified commencement framework.

7. Data security

MasterLoans takes reasonable measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, disclosure or loss. Security measures may include access controls, authentication mechanisms, monitoring, technical safeguards and organisational procedures appropriate to the nature of the information.

No online system can be guaranteed to be completely immune from every security risk. Customers should therefore also protect their own devices, passwords, OTPs and account credentials. MasterLoans will not knowingly request confidential authentication credentials such as passwords or OTPs for purposes unrelated to an authorised transaction.

8. Data retention

Personal information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, provide services, maintain business and transaction records, meet contractual obligations, comply with legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes and protect legitimate interests.

When information is no longer required, it should be deleted, anonymised or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable retention requirements. Where a lending partner is responsible for the relevant loan records, its retention policies may also apply.

9. Data storage

Where digital lending regulations or other applicable requirements prescribe particular data-storage arrangements, MasterLoans and relevant service providers will follow those requirements to the extent applicable to their role. RBI’s digital-lending framework contains requirements concerning data storage and privacy responsibilities for regulated entities and digital lending arrangements.

Customers should refer to the applicable lender’s privacy policy for information concerning records maintained directly by that lender.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

MasterLoans may use cookies or similar technologies to support website functionality, remember preferences, understand general website usage and improve the user experience. Cookies may be necessary for certain technical functions.

Where required, applicable consent or browser controls may be provided for optional cookies or similar technologies. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

11. Communications

If you provide your contact details, MasterLoans or an authorised service provider may contact you regarding your enquiry, application, account, requested service, security matters, customer support or other permitted purposes.

Where communications are optional or promotional, applicable preferences and opt-out mechanisms may be provided. Opting out of promotional communications may not stop essential service or transaction-related communications.

12. Third-party websites

The MasterLoans website may contain links or references to websites operated by third parties. MasterLoans does not control the privacy practices of independent third-party websites. Customers should read the privacy policy of any external website before providing personal information.

13. Children’s privacy

MasterLoans’ personal-loan services are intended for persons who are legally eligible to apply for such financial products. The platform is not intended to knowingly collect information from children for personal-loan applications. If information is discovered to have been submitted improperly by an ineligible person, appropriate steps may be taken in accordance with applicable law.

14. Fraud prevention and legal compliance

Information may be processed where necessary to detect or prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorised activity, security incidents or other unlawful conduct. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law, court order, governmental authority, regulatory requirement or lawful investigation. Such processing will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

15. Updates to this Privacy Policy

MasterLoans may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in its services, technology, legal obligations or data-processing practices. The revised policy will be published on the website with an updated effective or revision date. Customers are encouraged to review the policy periodically.
